Are Chefs in Long term skill shortage list?

Do Chefs have any future and success in getting PR in New Zealand?

Ans. Yes, chefs are back in our long-term skill shortage list. We are a country where tourism is our largest industry there are millions of tourists coming to New Zealand every year. I'm sure there are more tourists coming into New Zealand and the population of the country so there is a requirement to house these tourists and transport these tourists and feed this tourist so which means somebody's got to cook the food for that and which is where I mean chefs are become quite important in our society and in our economy and not just the tourists but even we as local New Zealanders like to get out and eat and every once in a while it is part of the culture of the country that we do go out and eat quite a bit, so yeah chefs are definitely good demands and it's a good pathway I think all the chef's that we students we work within the past have had settled in very well. Just today in the afternoon I was actually speaking to another one of all the young students who was doing a course right here in Hamilton and the chef industry and he was telling me how well his course is progressing and how confident also that he can become a good chef and a future resident so yeah good choice.
