Mechanical Engineering v/s Design Engineering

I'm a mechanical engineer working as design engineer for past 4.8 year so I am going to do PG Diploma in New Zealand but I have a confusion and whether to take me to determine mechanical engineering or design engineering how can you advise me?

Ans : Engineers are in the long term skill shortage list of New Zealand so and irrespective of whether it is mechanical or civil or electronic or electrical or design engineer wherever so pretty much all engineers are in the skill shortage list of New Zealand at the moment so I would say because you already have done mechanical engineering but you're now working as a design engineer I would say you're probably more you're especially since the last four years you're more towards design it will make sense for you to continue to be in the design field because like I said design engineering is also coming under the umbrella of engineering it's not away from the engineering umbrella but because the last four years you have four and a half five years almost you have been involved with design engineering yeah I said stick to design engineering because that's what you have earned my forte and build on it and make it better like you know last 15 years I've been the New Zealand immigration education and immigration industry if suddenly somebody asked me to start off here about Canadian immigration I wouldn't know anything I mean it might be a similar but you know so that's my forte so and I think we should all play always play to our strengths and to our forte and so I would strongly recommend that you pick up design engineering and like I said whether it's mechanical or design you will be able to keep moving forward and the beauty is you if you already have a qualification in mechanical engineering and now if we add another qualification and design engineering  technically you could seek opportunities in both areas then if you're coming as an AJV student we will work with you and guide you as licensed advisers tell you how we can work your way through the system in terms of finding a relevant job and if you actually crack a mechanical engineering job how can we help how can you still proceed to residency we can assist you with all those things.
