Can I get Ph.D. scholarship
in New Zealand, I have done masters in mechanical?
Ans. About getting a
scholarship for Ph.D. in New Zealand the fact is that the PhDs are already being
offered at a very low cost in fact so normally the fees for a domestic student
and the fees for an international student is about 1 is to 3 ratio
approximately you know so if an international student if a domestic student is
paying five thousand dollars international students pay fifteen thousand
dollars which is why it's such an important industry for us because we get very
good revenue from international students so but sometimes the government what
it does is it treats the policy to ensure that the balance the revenue versus
the kind of quality we want to attract into the country and which is where the government
decided that they're going to make it very attractive for Ph.D. scholars and them
have they're offering it at domestic fees which is very less as compared to
international students, so there is already a massive scholarship inbuilt into
the Ph.D. fee structure in New Zealand over and above that some of the
institutions also offer other scholarship so we will not know till we make an application so but in the past, some of my students have who have come for a PhD
have got the full fee waiver plus they also got living expenses so the possibility definitely exists I would recommend that you get in touch but
please bear in mind as a Ph.D. student you already have a massive advantage of
being offered the domestic fees plus if you're coming with us cause the spouse
will be able to work full time as a Ph.D. student you would also be able to work
full time so you guys are not only paying domestic fees but two people are also
working full-time and earning money overall I think it is a great opportunity
for Ph.D. students but get in touch with us and they will give you more details.
